Major Richard H. Pratt and Assistant Superintendent A. J. Standing submit a report that lists irregular employees who worked at the school during June 1899. The report includes details on compensation, position titles, race, and the number of days worked during that month. An explanatory cover letter is also included, which mentions that John Greenbird was taken out of school and placed on a farm to help with the regular farm work.

Eligible Candidates for Clerk Position

Date: July 10-11, 1899

William R. Bushby, the Chief of the Education Division of the Civil Service Commission, forwards to the Secretary of the Interior a list of three women (Esther Ropenstein, Inga Erickson, Marion Gibbes) who are eligible to fill the vacant clerk position at the Carlisle Indian School. The list includes the candidates' names, addresses, and their civil service exam grades. Acting Secretary Thomas Ryan refers the list to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs.

Date: July 24 - August 8, 1899

J. D. Sowerby (teacher) sends a letter to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs requesting he direct A. J. Standing  (acting superintendent) to pay him for the remaining 5-days leave of absence for making the trip to Round Valley, California. Sowerby received orders to report to Round Valley immediately on July 6, and he requested an extension for the transfer. A. J. Standing only pays Sowerby for twenty-one days and refused to him for the last five days of the trip because Sowerby took his vacation first instead of directly reporting to the Round Vally School.
