Edgar A. Allen responds to an Office of Indian Affairs letter stating that Richard Henry Pratt would like to retain the present school physician on a contract basis until he is able to view the list of eligible candidates personally. Allen requests to continue the present arrangement or at a slightly lower amount.

Edgar A. Allen forwards correspondence regarding the desertion of Jose Henry from his outing and subsequent work at a New Jersey farm. Allen requests Office assistance in returning Henry to Carlisle.

Acting Superintendent Edgar A. Allen submits a report that lists new employees (Etta White and Emma G. Sky), those who have left the school (Elizabeth Searight) and those who have changed positions (Howard E. Gansworth and Edith McHarg Steele). The report include the position title, salary, date of departure, and reason for departure.

Acting Superintendent Edgar A. Allen forwards Clerk S. J. Nori's application for a 15-day annual leave of absence. 

Edgar A. Allen informs the Office of Indian Affairs that Orlando Ford reported for duty at the Carlisle Indian School but left the same day and they have no idea where he is currently located.

Colonel Richard H. Pratt submits a report that lists irregular employees who worked at the school during November 1903. The report includes details on compensation, position titles, race, and the number of days worked during that month.

Acting Superintendent Edgar A. Allen requests a one-month supply of memorandum books used by the United States Indian Affairs division of the Department of the Interior.

Richard H. Pratt compiles a report with remarks regarding employees' efficiency, conduct, behavior, dress, health, kindness towards children, and notes on any special skills. The report also lists employees' salaries and position titles.

Edgar A. Allen responds to an Office of Indian Affairs letter regarding the retention of librarian Edith McHarg Steele. Allen notes that Steele has proven herself and therefore recommends her permanent appointment and further notes she just received a raise in salary at Richard Henry Pratt's recommendation.

Edgar A. Allen responds to the request of Louis Sawyer for his son Frank Sawyer to remain at home without worry about being returned to the Carlisle Indian School after having run away.

Edgar A. Allen submits voucher covering expense of two tickets for William Hole-in-the-day and Simon Michelet, U.S. Indian Agent.

Edgar A. Allen forwards bill and voucher for the veterinarian services provided by Dr. S. P. Bishop.

Edgar A. Allen (acting superintendent) forwards one application for leave of absence for Effie Moul (assistant matron) and three reports on leave of absence: Moul, William B. Gray (dairyman), and Howard E. Gansworth (assistant disciplinarian).

Edgar A. Allen informs the Office of Indian Affairs of the death of Helen Fraties of tuberculosis.

Edgar A. Allen responds to an Office of Indian Affairs letter regarding the production of wagon making at the Carlisle Indian School. Allen notes that the department has made significant progress and he welcomes a departmental expert to give his judgement on the quality.

Edgar A. Allen requests authority to pay expenses incurred in the treatment of Thomas Mayo while on outing.

Edgar A. Allen provides a recommendation for Elnora Denny to fill the vacant teaching position at the Pine Ridge Agency Boarding School.

Henry F. Greene, Acting President of the Civil Service Commission, informs the Secretary of the Interior that with James J. Brady failing to report the temporary appointment of David Crosbie as cook can be extended if requested. In addition, he notes that there is a special examination to fill the vacancy.

Edgar A. Allen informs the Office of Indian Affairs of the death of Mitchell Solomon due to pneumonia.

Charles Jennings requests the return of his two step-sons, Marion Whiles and Earl Jennings (here Earl Sweeney) from the Carlisle Indian School.

William A. Mercer forwards copies of the contract with Dr. S. L. Diven for the 1904 fiscal year as well as the 1905 fiscal year beginning on July 1, 1904. Mercer also notes that he sent another note regarding an applicant for the position of resident physician.
