Personnel file of Oscar Hiram Lipps, who served as Superintendent of the Carlisle Indian School from July 1, 1915 to March 31, 1917. Lipps also was temporarily the Supervisor in Charge of the Carlisle Indian School from February 1914 to June 1915, after Moses Friedman was suspended from duty. Lipps worked in the Department of the Interior for most of his life, and his entire service record is presented in these materials. He mainly worked at various Indian schools, including the Uintah Indian School in Uintah, Utah; the Red Lake Indian Boarding School in Red Lake, Minnesota; the White Earth Indian Boarding School in White Earth, Minnesota; the Chilocco Indian Training School in Oklahoma; the Wahpeton Indian School in Indiana; and the Fort Lapwai Indian School and Sanitarium in Idaho.
