Willie Schanandore Student File

Student file of George Washington, a member of the Gros Ventre Nation, who entered the school on February 28, 1883, and departed on March 24, 1887.  The file contains a student information card indicating that Washington went on three outings while at Carlisle.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a student information card, correspondence, a newspaper clipping, an outing record, an application for enrollment, a returned student survey, a progress/conduct card, and a report after leaving indicating that Beck was farming in Birdtown, North Carolina in 1910.

 

Ute Crow Student File

Student file of Ute Crow, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on December 22, 1904, and ultimately departed on June 27, 1910. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a former student response postcard, medical/physical records, a progress/conduct card, a student outing record, financial transactions, correspondence, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Crow was a farmer in Cherokee, North Carolina in 1913.

 

John Sanborn Student File

Student file of John Sanborn, a member of the Gros Ventre Nation, who entered the school on April 13, 1890, and ultimately departed on August 8, 1895. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards and a change of address card from the U.S. Postal Service.

 

Vernon Davis Student File

Student file of Vernon Davis, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on December 2, 1909 and departed on October 12, 1911. The file contains a student information card, correspondence, financial transactions, a progress/conduct card, an application for enrollment, progress/conduct cards from Dickinson College Preparatory School (Conway Hall), and outing records. The file indicates Davis was with the 1st Minnesota Field Artillery stationed at Camp Llano Grande, Texas in 1917.
