Johnson Arch Student File

Student file of Johnson Arch, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on April 5, 1898, and departed on June 22, 1904.  The file contains a student information card, correspondence, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving that indicates that he was living in Cherokee, North Carolina, working as a farmer and night watchman between 1910 and 1911.

Note: Students Jennie Arch, Johnson Arch, Olivan Arch, and Ross Arch were siblings.

Student file of Irwin Sherman, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 9, 1912, and ultimately departed on January 26, 1915. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Sherman was living in Wagner, South Dakota in 1914.

In school documentation Irwin Sherman is also known as Irvin Sherman, Irvin E. Sherman, Irwin E. Sherman, Irving Sherman, and Edgar Sherman.

 

Jane Katchenago Student File

Student file of Jane Katchenago, a member of the Menominee Nation, who entered the school on August 24, 1905 and ultimately departed on July 17, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, correspondence, a progress/conduct card, medical/physical records, an outing record, outing evaluations, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Katchenago was living in Breed, Wisconsin in 1910.

Rufus Youngbird Student File

Student file of Rufus Youngbird, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on July 6, 1903, and ultimately departed on April 7, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, newspaper clippings, former student response postcards, outing records, medical/physical records, correspondence, souvenir postcards from cities like Philadelphia and Trenton, a progress/conduct card, a returned student survey, applications for enrollment, and a report after leaving.

Willie Schanandore Student File

Student file of Willie Schanandore, a member of the Onondaga Nation, who entered the school on October 22, 1895, and departed on June 30, 1903.  The file contains a student information card indicating that Schanandore went on three outings while at Carlisle.

In school documentation Willie Schanandore's name is also spelled Willie Schenandore.

 

Robert Edwards Student File

Student file of Robert Edwards, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on October 3, 1914 and departed on February 23, 1915. The file contains a student information card, a progress/conduct card, medical/physical records, an application for enrollment, and correspondence. The file indicates that Edwards was originally from L'Anse, Michigan.
