The first page opened with a poem titled "LA-MAH-NI," a story of an Indian man followed by "A True Story About a Dog: Written for the Indian Helper" about a very smart dog. It continued on the fourth page. Page two included small news items of national interest. There was a report that Jack Mather (Apache) was working in St. Augustine, Florida. There was an article, "The School in Oregon," reprinted from The Indian Citizen. There was "A Newsy Letter from Cheyenne Agency" followed by a report based on a letter from former student Sarah Crowell (Creek) containing news from Indian Territory. There also was a report that police were having difficulty keeping Whites out of Indian Territory.

Page three gave news about baseball practice, girls' gymnastics, the printers working on invitations to the upcoming New York and Philadelphia Indian meetings, news from Cyrus Dixon (Pueblo) who had returned to New Mexico, and a report about Edward Wilson, Principal of Shingwauk and Wawanosh Homes, visiting from Ontario. There was also a story that someone rang the breakfast bell instead of the rising bell causing chaos throughout the school. Page four included a "Letter from a Young Indian Man Who Spent Five Years at Carlisle: Now Assistant Teacher at the Pine Ridge Agency Boarding School" from Clarence Three Stars (Sioux) and the Puzzle Corner with an Enigma, Square Words and the answers to the previous week’s puzzles.
