Clara Trepania Student File

Student file of Clara Trepania, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 17, 1907 and departed on February 20, 1911. The file contains student information cards, an outing record, an application for enrollment, a medical/physical record, a progress/conduct card, and an outing evaluation. The files indicate that Trepania came to Carlisle from Hayward, Wisconsin.

In school documentation Clara Trepania's name is also spelled Clara Tepania and Clara Trapania. She is also known as Claribel Trepania.

 

Frank DeFoe Student File

Student file of Frank DeFoe, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on December 25, 1900, and departed on June 24, 1906.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating that DeFoe was working in Brevator, Minnesota, in 1914, as a farmer.  

Note: DeFoe was married to former student Emma Strong. 

 

Tonkin Davis (Natmab) Student File

Student file of Tonkin Davis, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on November 25, 1899, and departed on July 3, 1902.  The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving indicating that, in 1910, Davis was farming in L'Anse, Michigan.

In school documentation Tonkin Davis is also known as Thompkins Davis and Natmab.

Note: Family members have indicated that Tonkin is the proper spelling.

 

Rose Ohmert Student File

Student file of Rose Ohmert, a member of the Delaware Nation, who entered the school on September 2, 1905, and ultimately departed on June 19, 1911. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a physical record, a progress/conduct card, a news clipping, a trade/position record card, correspondence, student information cards, applications for enrollment, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Ohmert was a housewife in Bayfield, Wisconsin in 1912 and living in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1916.

Charles Mat Chickeny Student File

Student file of Charles Mat Chickeny (here Matchickeny), a member of the Menominee Nation, who entered the school on November 6, 1880 and departed on June 17, 1884. The file contains a report after leaving indicating that Mat Chickeny was working as a laborer in Keshena, Wisconsin in 1910.

In school documentation Charles Mat Chickeny's name is also spelled Charles Matchickeny. He is also known as Charley M. Chickeny.

 

Edward Davis Student File

Student file of Edward Davis, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 15, 1889 and departed on July 4, 1893. The file contains a student information card, photographs of Davis' barber shop, a former student response postcard, correspondence, newspaper clippings, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that, from 1910 to 1913, Davis was working as a barber in Alma, Michigan.

In school documentation Edward Davis is also known as Edward P. Davis.

 

James Boyd Student File

Student file of James Boyd, a member of the Menominee Nation, who entered the school on December 11, 1891, and departed on February 17, 1894. The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, correspondence, a photograph, and a report after leaving indicating that Boyd was working as a laborer in Neopit, Wisconsin in 1910 and was a lumber mill scaler in Neopit, Wisconsin in 1913.
