This photograph originally appeared in an album that E. A. Seabrook, a teacher at the Carlisle Indian Industrial School, received from his students on December 25, 1886.

Student Mary K. Marmon was also known as Mrs. Walter Marmon.

The file contains a returned student survey, a news clipping, a student information card and a report after leaving indicating he was an assistant mechanic in Pine Ridge, South Dakota in 1911.

In school documentation William White Bear is also known as William Whitebear.

 

Oscar Warden Student File

Student file of Oscar Warden, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 7, 1892 and departed on January 3, 1894. The file contains correspondences, a returned student survey and a report after leaving indicating he was a school disciplinarian in Rosebud, South Dakota in 1911.

In school documentation Oscar Warden is also known as Oscar C. Warden.

Note: The information on the student's nation comes from a ledger in NARA_RG 75_Series 1324_volume 1.

 

Frank Twiss Student File

Student file of Frank Twiss, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 6, 1879 and ultimately departed on February 14, 1884. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a former student response postcard, student information cards and a report after leaving indicating he was a rancher in Porcupine, South Dakota in 1910.

In school documentation Frank Twiss' name is also spelled Frank Twist.

Note: Twiss married former student Adelia Lowe.
