The first page opened with a poem titled "A Happy New Year to You," followed by a poem called "Santa Claus at Home," about his return to the North Pole. The next article, "The Cold Water Man," was about the dangers of drinking beer, reprinted from Maryland Bulletin. Also on the page was a piece titled "Mr. Causes-the-Wind, a Dakota says:" that described Santee Sioux practices that result in poverty, reprinted from Word Carrier. Page two opened with an illustration and the obituary of John A Logan, a Republican Senator from Illinois. There was also a report of "Our Christmas" that described how Christmas was celebrated at the school. It continued to the third page.
There were many short news items on page three that included news about snowy weather, skating, Richard Davis' (Cheyenne) recovered eyesight, tobacco use, the new Apache girls, and the band sociable in the Teacher's Club. Page four opened with the usual "Puzzle Corner" followed by a moral story called "A Warning." The next articles were a report from Girard College, a list of students who made the honor roll and an advice column titled "Living and Dying."
