Louis Lazore (Rowi) Student File

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains newspaper clippings, student information cards, photographs, a business card, correspondence, a trade record card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving that indicates that he was working as a printer in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1910.

John Seay Student File

Student file of John Seay, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on July 1, 1905 and departed on August 27, 1905. The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, an application for admission, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Seay was a farmer in Birdtown, North Carolina in 1911 and 1913.

In school documentation John Seay is also known as John W. Seay.

 

Sarah Ninham Student File

Student file of Sarah Ninham, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on June 30, 1888 and departed on July 2, 1891. The file contains a returned student survey and reports after leaving indicating that Smith married a Nelson Smith, and lived in both Oneida, Wisconsin and West De Pere, Wisconsin.

In school documentation Sarah Ninham's name is also spelled Sara Ninham. She appears to have married twice, first to John Antone and second to Mr. Nelson Smith. Her married names include Sarah Antone Smith, Sarah A. Smith, Sara A. Smith, and Sarah Smith.

The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. Thomas La France Student File

Student file of Thomas La France, a member of the Mohawk Nation, who entered the school on November 24, 1904, and departed on September 27, 1909. The file contains a student information card, a physical record, a progress card, an outing record, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that La France was farming in Hogansburg, New York in 1911.

In school documentation Thomas La France's name is also spelled Thomas Lafrance.

 

Joseph Saunooke Student File

Student file of Joseph Saunooke, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on December 14, 1893, and departed on March 7, 1899.  The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, correspondence, and a report after leaving.  According to the files, Saunooke was the Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in 1914.

In school documentation Joseph Saunooke's name is also spelled Joseph Senooke, Joseph Sawnooke, Joseph A. Saunooke, and Joe Saunooke.

 

Jackson Saunooka Student File

Student file of Jackson Saunooka, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on September 17, 1899, and departed on February 9, 1907.  The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving indicating that Saunooka was working in the Indian Service in 1910.
