Jackson Brown Student File

Student file of Gus Ance, a member of the Ottawa Nation, who entered the school on September 19, 1894 and departed on June 30, 1896. The file contains a student information card listing one outing.

Note: Students Gus Ance and Julius Ance were probably brothers. 

 

Tom Smith Student File

Student file of Tom Smith, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on September 2, 1901, and departed on September 7, 1906.  The file contains a student information card, a newspaper clipping, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving that indicates that Smith served as an engineer and clerk in Cherokee, North Carolina, in 1910 and 1911.

In school documentation Tom Smith is also known as Thomas Smith.

 

George Hoogradora (Hich-cha-ghe) Student File

Student file of George Hoogradora, a member of the Otoe Nation, who entered the school on February 24, 1893, and departed on December 29, 1893.  The file contains a student information card, correspondence, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Hoogradora was farming in Red Rock, Oklahoma in 1912.

In school documentation George Hoogradora's name is also spelled George Hoogradonch. He is also known as Hich-cha-ghe.

 

Levi Swamp Student File

Student file of Levi Swamp, a member of the Mohawk Nation, who entered the school on November 18, 1907, and departed on July 2, 1908.  The file contains a student information card and an application for enrollment indicating that Swamp was originally from Hogansburg, New York.

In school documentation Levi Swamp's name is also spelled Levy Swamp.

Student file of Lee Dailey, a member of the Otoe Nation, who entered the school on February 4, 1898, and departed on June 22, 1898.  The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating that Dailey was farming in Red Rock, Oklahoma in 1914.

In school documentation Lee Dailey's name is also spelled Lee Daily.

 

Sibbald Smith Student File

Student file of Sibbald Smith, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on December 14, 1893, and departed on September 30, 1894.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Smith was living in Cherokee, North Carolina between 1910 and 1913 working as a farmer.

 

Marion Whiles Student File

Student file of Marion Whiles, a member of the Osage Nation, who entered the school on November 3, 1901, and ultimately departed on October 26, 1903. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving indicating that Whiles was living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1910.

In school documentation Marion Whiles' name is also spelled Marian Whiles. He is also known as Marion Wallace.
