Student file of Minnie Black Hawk, a member of the Hidatsa Nation, who entered the school on November 11, 1906 and ultimately departed on June 4, 1914. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains an outing record, applications for enrollment, student information cards, medical/physical records, outing evaluations, a returned student survey, financial transactions, a progress/conduct card, and correspondence. The file indicates Black Hawk was living in Elbowoods, North Dakota in 1914.
In school documentation Minnie Black Hawk's name is also spelled Minnie Blackhawk and Minnie B. Hawk. She is also known as Medicine Corn Stalk. Her married name is Minnie Blackhawk Bracklin or Minnie B. Bracklin (Mrs. Edward Bracklin or Mrs. Edward G. Bracklin).
Note: Black Hawk married fellow student Edward Bracklin.
Note: Although this file shows Gros Ventre, a member of the Fort Berthold community has indicated that this individual is actually Hidatsa.
