James Little Hawk Student File

Student file of James Little Hawk, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 16, 1911 and departed on June 8, 1914. The file contains an applications for enrollment, a student information card, medical/physical records, an outing evaluation, an outing record, a financial transaction, and correspondence that indicates Little Hawk was a farmer in Pine Ridge, South Dakota in 1914 and serving in Company B 13th Infantry of the U. S. Army in the Philippines in 1917 where he was a light-weight boxer.

In school documentation James Little Hawk's name is also spelled James Little-hawk, James Littlehawk and James Hawk.

Note: Although this file shows an arrival date of September 17, the admissions ledger and his information card suggest that he actually arrived on September 16.
