A researcher has identified the person standing in the last row behind White Buffalo as Kise Williams.

Studio portrait captioned as "Pawnee Indian group that entered the Carlisle Indian School in 1882." If that is accurate, then the sitters include: Louis Bayhylle, Frank West, Chalkley Stafford, Abram Platt, Thomas Kester, Bruce Hayman, Henry Eagle Chief, Minnie Topa, and Nellie Aspenall. Those are the nine students from the Pawnee nation who arrived in August 1882. There are four additional students in this image.

Student newspapers reported that Red Cloud visited the school in January of 1883. This photo was probably taken during that visit.
