Note: The handwritten caption identifies this sitter as George Washington. When he first arrived at the school that was the name Hill was known by.

The Cumberland County Historical Society has two copies of this image. This person is identified as "N. M. Apache" in the album (PA-CH1-092b) and as "Augustine" in BS-CH-004.

Studio portrait of Charles Damon, Stailey Norcross, Wood Nashozey, and George S. Watchman. Damon was the youngest, and so is presumably the student at back left wearing a school uniform. Norcross is standing at right, Watchman is probably seated at left and Nashozey is probably seated at right.

Studio portrait of Juan Julian, probably a visiting chief. 

This person is identified as Juan Julian in the National Anthropological Archives negative version of this image and also in one of the Cumberland County Historical Society's copies (BS-CH-006). The other copy, located in an album (PA-CH2-075b), is labeled "Augustine." But that is probably a mistake. There are other photographs of a person with that name, wearing similar clothing but distinctly a different person.

Staff at the Cumberland County Historical Society identified three students based on comparison with other photographs: seated, from left to right Harry Marmon, Francis H. Ortiz, and James B. Garcia. 

Studio portrait of James H. Miller, Jane Vane, an unidentified female student and a visitor, probably a Pueblo chief or family member. 

Note: The male student was previously identified as Benjamin Thomas based on cataloging of the NAA negative. A researcher suggested that he is actually James H. Miller. The identification of Jane Vane comes from an annotation on the Cumberland County Historical Society's album copy.
