The Images section features photographs, postcards, and different types of artwork, as well as reproductions of images that appeared in newspapers, magazines, and other publications. These images all reflect the Carlisle Indian School students, facilities, and staff. Images available here are drawn from files housed at the U. S. National Archives, from collections of Carlisle Indian School materials housed at various archival repositories, and from a variety of published sources. Visitors to this website are also invited to share copies of photographs from their own personal and family collections; please contact us if you have images you would like to contribute.

The caption on the Cumberland County Historical Society's copy of this image identifies the students as being from the Pueblo nation. Staff at CCHS identified three students based on comparisons with other photographs: seated, from left to right, Harry Marmon, Francis H. Ortiz, and James B. Garcia.

Note: The male student was previously identified as Benjamin Thomas based on cataloging of this NAA negative. A researcher suggested that he is actually James H. Miller. The identification of Jane Vane comes from an annotation on the Cumberland County Historical Society's album copy.

The only Osage student named Grace who attended while Choate was taking photographs was Grace Bigheart.
