A set of documents from the Official Personnel Folder of Harvey K. Meyer who worked as a clerk at Carlisle from July 10, 1908 until October 11, 1916.
The documents are arranged in reverse chronological order. At the beginning of the PDF is a pair of letters in which Meyer applied for the Superintendency at Carlisle and the Commissioner clarified that Carlisle was closing. The rest of the material in the PDF focuses on Meyer's request to move into a Superintendent position, the abolishment of his position to meet the budget, and six years of efficiency reports (from 1910-1916).
Certain documents in Meyer's folder are not included in the PDF as they are not relevant to Carlisle. Those records indicate that after working at Carlisle Meyer worked as the principal of the Keshena Indian School until February of 1917, the Superintendent of the Leech Lake Indian School until June of 1922, and the Superintendent of the Yankton Agency until 1923. He worked at the Western Navajo School until May of 1926, then served as a Designated Special Disbursing Agent for the Choctaw Agency (in Mississippi) until his retirement in September of 1940. Most of this section of the folder revolves around Meyer's bond (as disbursing agent), negotiation of transfer between positions, and retirement benefits.
