Student file of Winnie Turtlehead, a member of the Hidatsa and Mandan Nations, who entered the school on November 3, 1901 and ultimately departed on August 2, 1910. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, a conduct card, an outing evaluation, an outing record, correspondence, a photograph, and a report after leaving indicating Turtlehead was at the Rosine Home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then began working as a domestic in Elbowoods, North Dakota in 1910.
Note: Although this file shows Gros Ventre, a member of the Fort Berthold community has indicated that this individual is actually Hidatsa and Mandan.
