Meroney French Student File

Student file of Meroney French, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on December 2, 1911, graduated in 1918, and departed on June 8, 1918. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a student information card, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, a record of pupil in school, correspondence, outing records, outing evaluations, a certificate of transfer, financial transactions, certificates of promotion, French's biographical essay from his senior year, a federal financial aid form, and a vocational guidance record. The file indicates that French studied painting while at Carlisle.

In school documentation Meroney French's name is also spelled Meroni French, Merone French, Merony French, Moroni French, Maroni French, and Maroney French. He is also known as Meroney McKinly French.
