Mattie Hall Student File

Student file of Mattie Hall, a member of the Hidatsa Nation, who entered the school on November 11, 1906 and ultimately departed on June 4, 1914. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, financial transactions, medical/physical records, an outing evaluation, an outing record, a progress/conduct card, and correspondence. The file indicates that Hall was living in Elbowoods, North Dakota in 1914 and 1915.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, several documents in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, Mamie Hall. Those documents have now been included with the Mamie Hall file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 93_folder 4162.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, a document in this student file seemed to relate to a different student, Nellie Hallowell. That document has now been included with the Nellie Hallowell file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 94_folder 4182.

Note: Although this file shows Gros Ventre, a member of the Fort Berthold community has indicated that this individual is actually Hidatsa.
