Mary Amera Student File

Student file of Mary Amera, a member of the Nez Perce Nation, who entered the school on March 3, 1905, and departed on June 20, 1910. The file contains a student information card, medical/physical records, applications of enrollment, an outing record, a progress/conduct card, a report after leaving, a news clipping, and correspondence written by her father regarding her. The file also contains a returned student survey from 1911 indicating she was living in Fort Lapwai, Idaho and attended Fort Lapwai Highschool after leaving Carlisle.

In school documentation Mary Amera's name is also spelled Mary Amier. She is also known as Harriet Mary Amera. Her married name is Mary Carter (Mrs. Caleb Carter).

Note: Other documentation states that Mary Amera later married former student Caleb Carter.
