Lewis George Student File

Student file of Lewis George, a member of the Karuk Nation, who entered the school on September 19, 1905, graduated in 1910, and departed on August 30, 1911. The file includes a student information card, a medical/physical record, an application for enrollment, correspondence, newspaper clippings, trade/position record cards, a report after leaving, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, financial transactions, and a returned student survey. The file indicates Lewis George worked as a plumber in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1910 and then moved to Montague, California in 1911 then to Orleans, California in 1912 and then to Eureka, California in 1913 with his wife and son.

In school documentation Lewis George's name is also spelled Louis George.

Note: Although documentation in his file lists Lewis George as Klamath, a researcher has indicated that he is actually Karuk.
