Judson Cabay (Pe-zon-ge-zhig) Student File

Student file of Judson Cabay, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on October 8, 1904 and ultimately departed on July 12, 1910. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, news clippings, a financial transaction, correspondence, a returned student survey, progress/conduct cards, a trade/position record card, medical/physical records, an application for enrollment, an outing evaluation, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Cabay was a farmer in West Bay City, Michigan in 1911 before joining the movie industry and the 101 wild west show in Venice, California and Ocean Park, California in 1912.

Cabay is noted to have entered the Los Angeles to Venice Marathon. He had held the Carlisle record for the ten mile distance at 54 minutes and had also competed in 15 mile and full marathon distances as well as winning races in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Bay City, Michigan.

In school documentation Judson Cabay's name is also spelled Judson B. Caby, Judsen M. Cabay, and Judson B. Cabay. He is also known as Jettie Cabay, Sky Eagle, and Pe-zon-ge-zhig.
