Jonas M. Poweshiek Student File

Student file of Jonas M. Poweshiek, a member of the Sac & Fox Nation, who entered the school on September 25, 1913 and departed on November 1, 1916. The file contains a student information card, financial transactions, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, an outing evaluation, an outing record, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Poweshiek assisted the American Bureau of American Ethnology in 1916, was with Company C. of the 1st Oklahoma Infantry stationed in Fort Worth, Texas and with Company C of the 142nd U.S. Infantry stationed at Camp Bowie in Fort Worth, Texas in 1917.

In school documentation Jonas M. Poweshiek's name is also spelled Jonas Powshiek, Jonas Poweshiek, Jonas Poashiek, Jona Powsheik, and Jonas Powesheik. He is also known as June Poweshiek (also spelled June Poweshick).
