George Tibbetts Student File

Student file of George Tibbetts, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 8, 1911 and ultimately graduated in 1917, departing on December 14, 1917. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file includes correspondence, outing record, a federal financial aid form, an outing evaluation, financial transactions, former student response postcard, student information cards, certificates of promotion, applications for enrollment, a trade/position record card, a biographical sketch, a legal agreement regarding Tibbetts' work as a councilor at Kamp Kohut, and medical/physical records. The file indicates that Tibbetts studied printing and worked in both the print shop and carpenter shop while in Carlisle. He was with the Aviation Section of the Signal Corps in Waco, Texas as of March 1918.

In school documentation George Tibbetts' name is also spelled George Tibbets, George Tibbitts, George W. Tibbetts, George W. Tibbets, and George W. Tibbits. He is also known as George Tibbetts Thompson.
