Amos Hamilton (Kah-wah-wi-q) Student File

Student file of Amos Hamilton, a member of the Osage Nation, who entered the school on June 22, 1888 and ultimately departed on December 10, 1896. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards and a report after leaving indicating that Hamilton was living in Hominy, Oklahoma in 1910.

In school documentation Amos Hamilton is also known as Kah-wah-wi-q (also spelled Kawahwiq).

 

Cecil Grant Student File

Student file of Cecil Grant, a member of the Hidatsa Nation, who entered the school on July 3, 1903 and departed on July 6, 1907. The file contains a student information card, a trade/position record card, and a report after leaving indicating that Grant was farming in Elbowoods, North Dakota in 1910.

Note: Although this file shows Gros Ventre, a member of the Fort Berthold community has indicated that this individual is actually Hidatsa.

 

Charles DeWitt Student File

Student file of Charles DeWitt, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on August 30, 1906 and departed on April 24, 1907. The file contains correspondence, financial transactions, a trade/position record card, and an application for enrollment. The file indicates DeWitt was living in Oakland, California in 1913 and living in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1916.

In school documentation Charles DeWitt's name is also spelled Charles De Witt. He is also known as Charles C. Dewitt.

 

Francis French Killer (Gray moi shin kah) Student File

Student file of Francis French Killer. Other records indicate that French Killer was a member of the Osage nation who arrived at the school on February 26, 1881 and departed on August 17, 1885. The file contains a report after leaving indicating that French Killer was living in Hominy, Oklahoma in 1910.

In school documentation Francis French Killer is also known as Gray moi shin kah, Francis, and Francis Claremore. His name is also spelled Francis French-killer.

 

Bruce Goesback Student File

Student file of Bruce Goesback, a member of the Arapaho Nation, who entered the school on June 25, 1904 and ultimately departed on December 12, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, trade/position record, medical/physical records, newspaper clippings, a returned student survey, an application for enrollment, a progress/conduct card, and reports after leaving.

Belknap Fox Student File

Student file of Belknap Fox, a member of the Gros Ventre Nation, who entered the school on April 13, 1890, and departed on April 17, 1893.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Fox was working as a stockraiser in St. Paul's Mission, Montana in both 1911 and 1914.

In school documentation Belknap Fox is also known as Big Smoker.

 

Don McDonald Student File

Student file of Don McDonald, a member of the Delaware Nation, who entered the school on March 16, 1900, and departed on July 1, 1902.  The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that McDonald was living in Fairfax, Oklahoma in 1911.

In school documentation Don McDonald is also known as Daniel McDonald and Donald McDonald.
