Rose Simpson Student File

Student file of Rose Simpson, a member of the Nez Perce Nation, who entered the school on March 3, 1905, and departed on June 9, 1913. The file contains an application for enrollment, student information cards, a former student response postcard, a photograph, a progress/conduct card, correspondence, a wedding invitation, an outing record, outing evaluations, medical/physical records, financial transactions, and a report after leaving indicating that Simpson was living in Winnebago, Nebraska in 1914. Simpson married fellow student John Bigfire before leaving Carlisle. 

Charles Antell Student File

Student file of Charles Antell, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 20, 1897, and departed on July 3, 1902.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating that he was working in Mahnomen, Minnesota, in 1913. 

Note: Students Charles Antell, Lizzie Antell, and Nellie Antell were siblings. 

 

James Andrews Student File

Student file of James Andrews, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 19, 1894, and ultimately departed on June 29, 1900.  The file contains student information cards and a report after leaving that indicates that he was living in Harbor Springs, Michigan, in 1910.

In school documentation James Andrews' name is also spelled James Andrew.

 

Willie Andrews Student File

Student file of Willie Andrews, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on August 27, 1892 and departed on November 21, 1892. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating that, from 1910 to 1913, Andrews was farming in Ponsford, Minnesota.

In school documentation Willie Andrews is also known as William H. Andrews and Willie D. Andrews.

 

James Ackley Student File

Student file of James Ackley, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on July 2, 1897, and departed on December 7, 1897.  The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating that Ackley was working as a carpenter in Odanah, Wisconsin, in 1913.

Note: Students Albert Ackley and James Ackley were brothers. 

 

Amelia E. Hewitt Student File

Student file of Amelia Hewitt, a member of the Tuscarora Nation, who entered the school on September 14, 1909 and departed on January 20, 1913. The file contains a student information card, an application for enrollment, correspondence, outing evaluations, an outing record, a progress/conduct card, and a medical/physical record.

In school documentation Amelia Hewitt's name is also spelled Amelia Hewett, Amelia Hewitt, and Amelia Hewit. Her married name is Amelia Kraft (Mrs. George Kraft).

 

Charlotte Welch Student File

Student file of Charlotte Welch, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on September 26, 1907 and departed on May 1, 1912. The file contains a student information card, medical/physical records, outing evaluations, a financial transaction, outing records, correspondence, an application for enrollment, a progress/conduct card, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Welch was married to former student Robert Crowe (also known as Robert Bigmeat) and was living in Cherokee, North Carolina in 1913.

Scott J. Porter Student File

Student file of Scott J. Porter, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 1, 1905, and ultimately departed on December 10, 1908. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a former student response postcard, a progress/conduct card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating that Porter was working as a farmer in Duane, Minnesota in 1911 and 1912 and as a police officer in Duane, Minnesota in 1913.
