The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a former student response postcard, a progress/conduct card, a trade/position record card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving that indicates La Mere was working as a farmer in Winnebago, Nebraska in 1913.

In school documentation Charles La Mere's name is also spelled Charles Lamere.

Roy Smith Student File

Student file of Roy Smith, a member of the Ute Nation, who entered the school on August 13, 1901, and departed on March 21, 1905. The file contains a student information card, a report after leaving, a news clipping, a former student response postcard, and returned student surveys from two different years. The later survey indicates that Smith was working as a rancher in White Rocks, Utah in 1913.

Note: It is likely that the Laura Taylor to whom Smith was married is the same as the Carlisle student Laura Taylor.

 

Walter Bigfire Student File

Student file of Walter Bigfire, a member of the Winnebago Nation, who entered the school on August 22, 1896, and departed on July 4, 1902. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, a trade/position record card, and a former student response postcard that indicates Bigfire was working as a laborer for the U.S. Indian Service in Winnebago, Nebraska in 1913.

In school documentation Walter Bigfire's name is also spelled Walter Big Fire.

John Howe Student File

Student file of John Howe, a member of the Washoe Nation, who entered the school on July 20, 1898, and departed on September 29, 1898. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving that indicates Howe was living in Reno, Nevada in 1910. Howe also attended Carson Indian School.
