Lupia Spira Student File

Student file of Lupia Spira, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on December 22, 1909 and departed on October 7, 1914. (A secondary note on her card shows a second departure on June 1, 1915, but there is no indication from the quarterly reports that she had reentered the school at any time between Oct. 1914 and June 1915.) The file contains student information cards, medical/physical records, an application for enrollment, outing evaluations, outing records, a report after leaving, financial transactions, a progress/conduct cards, a returned student survey, and correspondence. The file indicates that Spira was working for N. R. Denny in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1914, was living in Casa Blanca, New Mexico in 1915 and 1916, and was married and working as a housekeeper in Casa Blanca, New Mexico in 1917.

In school documentation Lupia Spira's name is also spelled Lupe Spira, Lupie Spira, Lupie Spirie, and S. Lupe Spire. Her married name is Lupia Dailey (Mrs. George P. Dailey Jr.).

Note: Spira married fellow student George P. Dailey, Jr.
