The first page opened with a poem, "Little Moments," followed by "A Letter," dated March 21, 1888 describing some of the Man-On-the-Band-Stand's observations. The next feature was an article about how to build a periscope. It was titled "Seeing Through a Brick," and continued on the fourth page. Page two included a detailed description of the wedding between students Richard Davis (Cheyenne) and Nellie Aspenall (here Nannie Aspenall) (Pawnee) which was held in the school chapel, followed a report entitled "Our Examination," about the proceedings of the latest exhibition. Page three included many news briefs about visitors, including a group of Apache chiefs; the weather; a report called "A Trip to Wilmington, Del." by Sam Townsend (Pawnee); and a brief sketch about Louisa M. Alcott entitled "The Author of 'Little Women.'" Page four continued the directions for building a periscope, followed by the "Answer to Square Puzzle,' followed by the notice of the "Death of Peter Douville," (Rosebud Sioux).
