Portrait of Richard Henry Pratt (seated on the bandstand) with one female Navajo student and eleven male students. The female student, Antoinette Williams, had arrived on December 5, 1881. She and Pratt are posed with a group of male Navajo students who had arrived on the day this photograph was taken, October 21, 1882.

The students are, seated, left to right: Tom Torlino, George Williams, Stailey Norcross, Antoinette Williams, Charles Damon; standing, left to right - Manuelito Chiquito, Manuelito Choni, Charlie, John Bitzclay, Francisco, Saahtlie (George Watchman), Benjamin Damon.

There is another version of this photograph (pose 2) with the same group of people. The only difference is that in the other version Tom Torlino is standing at the far left; here he is seated at the far left.

Portrait of eleven male students and one female student posed in front of the bandstand on the school grounds. Richard Henry Pratt is sitting on the bandstand, behind the group.

The female student, Antoinette Williams, had arrived on December 5, 1881. The male students are a group of male Navajo students who arrived on October 21, 1882. They are: front row, seated, left to right - George Williams, Stailey Norcross, Antoinette Williams, Charles Damon; standing, back row, left to right - Tom Torlino, Manuelito Chiquito, Manuelito Choni, Charlie, John Bitzclay, Francisco, Saahtlie (George Watchman), Benjamin Damon.

There is another version of this photograph (pose 1) in which Tom Torlino, who is standing on the far left here, is seated on the ground at the far left.

Previous cataloging for this image identifies the students as being from the Pine Ridge reservation. However the caption for the Cumberland County Historical Society version of the image has a caption that says they are from the Rosbud agency and arrived in November 1882.

The school newspapers reported a visit to the school by Red Cloud and Agent Townsend in January 1883.
