These materials include correspondence regarding a request for clarification from Superintendent John Francis Jr. on how to handle students wishing to enlist in the United States Army and Navy in response from hearing from a Naval recruiting officer. Francis was informed that he should not oppose any eligible student from enlisting and those from the senior class should be given a special examination in order to graduate on the spot.
