Student file of Frank Jannies, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883, and departed on July 8, 1889. The file contains a student information card, a photograph, correspondence related to financial transactions, enrolling other children as students at Carlisle as well as attending the commencement exercises at Carlisle, a trade/position record card, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, and a former student response postcard indicating that Jannies was a farmer and stock raiser in Winner, South Dakota in 1914. Jannies also served in the United States Army.
In school documentation Frank Jannies' name is also spelled Frank Janis.
