Charlotte Smith Student File

Student file of Charlotte Smith, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 4, 1915 and departed on August 31, 1918. The file contains an application for enrollment, letters, an outing evaluation, discussion of financial transactions, an outing record, and student information cards. The file indicates that Charlotte planned to stay at the home of Eleanor T. Dillenback, her outing patron at the time, after the Indian school closed in 1918. She wanted to finish high school in Germantown, Pennsylvania and eventually work at the Chestnut Hill Hospital.
