Charlotte Cook (Wari Saro Kawennaiensen) Student File

Student file of Charlotte Cook, a member of the Mohawk Nation, who entered the school on August 26, 1897, and departed on June 23, 1904. This file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving, indicating that she was married and living in Hogansburg, New York, in 1911.

In school documentation Charlotte Cook is also known as Wari Saro Kawennaiensen. Her married name is Charlotte Lazore or Charlotte Cook Lazor (Mrs. Philip Lazore).

A researcher noted that Wari Saro is the Mohawk version of the French name Marie Charles, which is Mary Charlotte in English.
