Note: Family have indicated that the proper spelling of the name is Bailly, and that Grover is the brother of Maud and the uncle of Christina, Edith, and Millie, other Carlisle students.

In school documentation Adam is also known as First Born and Adam First Born.

Note: Information in other records shows Adam was a member of the Sioux nation who arrived at the school on November 6, 1880 and departed on June 19, 1882.
