Richard Henry Pratt proposes abolishing the position of principal teacher following the resignation of O. H. Bakeless and requests the creation of Assistant Superintendent and Principal Teacher positions.

Acting Superintendent Edgar A. Allen informs the Commissioner of Indian Affairs of the actual dates Anne S. Ely was absent from duty due to the death of her brother.

Richard Henry Pratt requests the salary of Fannie Peter be increased to prevent her transfer to the Indian Office. Pratt notes that Peter is more valuable to the Indian Service at Carlisle than in Washington D.C.

Richard Henry Pratt forwards Fannie I. Peter's letter withdrawing her request for a transfer to the Indian Office.

Edgar A. Allen requests to be considered for the special agent vacancy created by the transfer of Mr. McNichol.

Edgar A. Allen (acting superintendent) asks the Commissioner of Indian Affairs if clerk Fannie I. Peter's request for sick leave of absence is approved or denied. 

Acting Superintendent Edgar A. Allen informs the Office of Indian Affairs that he will accept the position of Special Agent.

William A. Mercer informs W. A. Jones that he would like time before making a recommendation regarding the replacement of Edgar A. Allen as Assistant Superintendent.

William A. Mercer responds to an Office of Indian Affairs letter by stating that he has submitted Helen E. Krise for a temporary position as Clerk to replace Fannie I. Peter.

William A. Mercer requests the appointment of Arthur E. Schaal to the position of stenographer and clerk at the Carlisle Indian School.

Emma G. Sky applies for the assistant clerk position at the Riggs Institute in Flandreau, South Dakota through William A. Mercer. Mercer recommends the transfer in order to comply with his earlier recommendation to eliminate one of the assistant clerk positions at Carlisle.

William H. Miller resigns his position as a financial clerk at the Carlisle Indian School. William A. Mercer forwards the resignation to the Office of Indian Affairs and notes that he will forward the nomination of Frank Hudson at a later time.

W. B. Beitzel resigns his position as a clerk at the Carlisle Indian School. William A. Mercer forwards the resignation along with his note that he will provide a recommendation to fill the vacancy later.

Frances A. Veitch requests from the Office of Indian Affairs if she is eligible for a transfer to another department under the Secretary of the Interior as a clerk. William A. Mercer provides further information on Veitch's request.

William A. Mercer requests action on his request to have John F. Mackey transferred to the Carlisle Indian School from his position at the Omaha Agency.

Ida Swallow resigns her position as assistant clerk at the Carlisle Indian School. William A. Mercer forwards the resignation to the Office of Indian Affairs and recommends it be accepted as tendered.

Anna S. Ely recommends that Nellie Robertson be retained as a clerk at the Carlisle Indian School. William A. Mercer adds a note to the letter changing his previous statement, saying he agrees they should retain Robertson.

William A. Mercer forwards a letter from S. J. Nori requesting an increase in salary. Mercer notes that the office positions have not been adjusted and the changes are needed to provide equity.

William A. Mercer requests the Office of Indian Affairs arrange a non-competitive examination for Chauncey Archiquette for the position of assistant clerk. Mercer requests that blanks and information be sent to directly Archiquette.

J. R. Wise informs the Office of Indian Affairs of the reason for the delay in forwarding the attendance report of the school for the quarter ending September 30, 1905.

William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs that Chauncey Archiquette is set to leave his position in the school's office to transfer to a position at the Osage Agency. Mercer provides his qualifications for a stenographer to replace Archiquette at the Carlisle Indian School.

J. R. Wise follows up on the request to replace Chauncey Archiquette as assistant clerk with a young woman through the Civil Service list of eligible candidates.

William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs that Martha D. Bennett has failed to report for duty as an assistant clerk. Mercer requests that another appointment be made as early as possible.

John F. MacKey requests a transfer from his position as a clerk at the Carlisle Indian School to the head of an agency in the Indian Service. Included are recommendations from various Indian agents supporting his previous promotions as well as office notes related to MacKey's previous tenure in Omaha.
