The first page opened with the poem "What a Jug Did," reprinted from An Old Scrap Book followed by a piece called "Nice Letter from Mr. Standing," made up of abstracts from his trip West returning Carlisle students to their home agencies. Standing mentioned there was a special travel car for girls and sick students, and described his visit with former student Minnie Yellow Bear (Arapaho). The next article was titled "From Miss Patterson who went home with the Dakota children," in which Patterson reported a stay at a hotel where Jimmy McCloskey (Sioux) almost died after he blew out the gas in his room and fell asleep. The article continued on page four. Page two opened with "The Best Way" that extolled the merits of Indian education, followed by several articles that included a letter from Thomas Suckley (Mandan) and a report that Etahdleuh Doanmoe (Kiowa) attended the International Indian Council at Eufala, Indian Territory.

Page three included many small notices about Apache singing, teachers activities, Outing and farm news, the availability of tickets available for a benefit for the Shiloh Baptist Church in town, progress on the new administration building’s tin roof, travel news about returning students to their homes, and a visit by former teacher Miss Wright to Frank Aveline (Miami) who had success in the East after leaving the school. Page four continued from the first page followed by the Question Box, that asked "Will you please describe an Indian Council?"
