The first page opened with a poem titled “Snow Brings Fun,” followed by instructions for “How to Write to Your Mother,” directed to a young man with instructions for how to reply to his mother who was pleading for his return back to his home agency. Page two opened with a series of news items about President Cleveland, the death of Vice President Thomas Hendricks, events at the Cheyenne – Arapaho Agency and a report of events from “Thanksgiving” at the school.

The third page featured may small news items that included the arrival of Oneida students, band news, girls’ hairstyles, some advice from Captain Pratt, the appearance of Mr. See All, the search for the Man-on-the-band-stand and words on citizenship from Samuel Johns (Nez Perce). Page four gave a history and description of Girard College followed by a bit called “Too Slow,’ admonishing the Apprentice boys to work faster.
