The first page opened with a poem titled “How To Make Up,” followed by an article reprinted from The Sabbath School Visitor titled “Playthings of the Indian Children.” Next came a letter from Nancy Cornelius (Oneida) titled “Items of Interest From Nancy Cornelius,” which was sent from the Training School for Nurses at Hartford, Connecticut and described nurses’ hospital training. It continued on the fourth page. Page two included news of Richard (Cheyenne) and Nannie Davis (Pawnee) at their home in West Grove, Pennsylvania; news about Eugene Tahkapuer’s (Comanche) success on Outing in Massachusetts, good reviews of the school newspaper; news of former students at the Haskell Institute in the article titled “Old Pupils Heard From;” a piece called “Strength of Our School at Present” that listed enrollment at the Indian school and on farms; a piece about the new school building; an article on the evils of tobacco and other very short blurbs. Page three gave many holiday notices and included bits about students coming back to the school from Outing assignments, student health, football news, the death of Lucinda Hill (Oneida) who had returned West, the expected arrival of new students from the Crow Agency, teacher news, and an appeal for reports from students on Outing for the INDIAN HELPER. Page four featured a letter from a former Apache student titled “How Odellah Found Things at Wichita Agency Indian Territory,” followed by an article “Our Flag,” that explained the symbolism of the design and colors of the flag. The page closed with a “Riddle” sent by Annie Lockwood (Pueblo) and the “Answer to Last Week’s Puzzle.”
