Joseph Ross Student File

Student file of Joseph Ross, a member of the Pueblo Nation, who entered the school on October 23, 1904 and ultimately departed on June 11, 1911. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a photograph, student information cards, progress/conduct cards, an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, a returned student survey, correspondence, a former student response postcard, an outing record, a trade/position record card, and a report after leaving.

The file indicates that Ross went to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with the band in 1908, on two outings with the Battlefield Photo Co. in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 1910. After departing the school, Ross was a rancher in Seama, New Mexico in 1912 and 1913 as well as a machinist helper in 1912 with the Santa Fe Railroad Co. and was living in Gallup, New Mexico in 1916.

In school documentation Joseph Ross is also known as Josiah.

Note: Ross married fellow student Lettie Chase.
