Ellen Grinnell Student File

Student file of Ellen Grinnell, a member of the Hidatsa Nation, who entered the school on July 3, 1903, and departed on June 20, 1910. The file contains student information cards, a conduct card, a physical record, an outing record, a photograph, news clippings, a financial transaction, marriage invitations, correspondence, a trade/position record card, and a report after leaving. The file indicates that Grinnell was living in Elbowoods, North Dakota in 1910, 1911, and 1912.

In school documentation Ellen Grinnell is also known as Ellen H. Grinnell. Her married name is Ellen Baker (Mrs. Lewis Baker).

Note: Although this file shows Gros Ventre, a member of the Fort Berthold community has indicated that this individual is actually Hidatsa.
