The first page opened with a poem, “Be Careful What You Say,” followed by “Indian Names,” on the origin of Indian names. Next came an article titled “Wanted, Something Inside,” about the value of persistence and perseverance, followed by small blurbs about the Christian population of Japan and the construction of a rabbit-proof fence in Australia. Page two included the news of the departure of Samuel Townsend (Pawnee) for Marietta College in Ohio, titled “Our Faithful Foreman Gone.” Next followed several news items that included a plea for boardwalks, Outing work, and INDIAN HELPER subscription activities and support. Page three reported many small blurbs mentioning that Baby Eunice walked, new staff arrived, student work changes were assigned, visitors arrived – some passing through on the way to Gettysburg, a fashion report, the Republican parade in town, Pratt family news, Mr. Campbell travelling to Dakota and bring students home and escort new students to the school. Page four began with a list of rules for students followed by an admonition to behave in the dining-room. Next came several small articles about the industrial trades, girls on Outing, Chippewa Indians voting, and “How Newton Discovered the Force of the Wind.”
