Ella G. Hill declines her transfer due to the decrease in salary and requests information regarding the reason for her demotion. William A. Mercer forwards Hill's letter to the Office of Indian Affairs along with noting that Kate S. Bowersox accepted her transfer to the Haskell Institute as principal teacher. Mercer further discusses his desire to have Hill removed from Carlisle and recommends the position of laundry manager be abolished and replaced with laundress.
