Richard Henry Pratt petitions the Office of Indian Affairs to enroll 50 students from the Mescalero and Jicarilla Agencies. Pratt notes that the headmen from each Agency having visited the Carlisle Indian School now have a high opinion of the school and are currently enthusiastic to enroll their children. Pratt additionally provides the cost of transporting the students to Carlisle.
