Heating School Physician's Home with Soft Coal

Supervisor in Charge of the Carlisle Indian School Charles H. Dickson requests to deliver four tons of soft or bituminous coal to School Physician Dr. Shoemaker's home and office instead of hard coal, which is more expensive. 

Acting Commissioner of Indian Affairs C. F. Larrabee tells Dickson that he can use four tons of soft coal to heat Shoemaker's office.
