Date
February 3, 1904

Rev. Lyman Abbott writes to Richard Henry Pratt discussing his views on the reservation system and Indian education. This includes the desire to transfer responsibility from the Office of Indian Affairs to the Army Department, the desire to break up tribal organizations, and the hope of removing politics from the system. Abbott also argues that Grant's Peace Policy has failed to meet its aims.
