This postcard is believed to have been produced at the school after the establishment of a photo studio there.

Everett Strong was a photographer employed by the school starting in May 1908; he had left before December 1909. 

The caption on the front of the postcard reads: Teachers Quarters and Band Stand, Indian School, Carlisle, Pa. The initials "E. L. W." have been hand-written below the caption.

Although the postcard was never sent, someone wrote "Mr. Fred Erlinger Carlisle Pa" on the back.

These materials relate to tension between Superintendent Moses Friedman and mathematics teacher Roy L. Mann.
