Stacy Matlock Student File

Student file of Stacy Matlock, a member of the Pawnee Nation, who entered the school on October 22, 1883, graduated in 1890, and ultimately departed on May 18, 1892. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, a trade and position card, a report after leaving, and newspaper clippings indicating that Stacy Matlock, who had played football at the school, was a Pawnee Chief. The file also contains correspondence between Matlock and the school regarding his daughter Cecelia and other Pawnee children at the school.

In school documentation Stacy Matlock's name is also spelled Stacy Matlack, but family members have indicated that Matlock is the correct spelling. He is also known as Ah-sahte-rah-ruh.

Note: Matlock married student Ella Manchief, and subsequently another student, Blanche Bill, after Manchief's death. He was also the father of student Cecelia Matlock.
