Student information cards of McKinley Ross, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, who entered the school on January 2, 1916. The file indicates Ross transferred to the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas at the end of August 1918, upon the closure of the Carlisle Indian School.
Note: Although one card shows an arrival date of January 3, the admissions ledger and his other two information cards suggest that he actually arrived on January 2.
Note: Another student named McKinley Ross also entered in 1916. That student is identified as a member of the Creek nation. They are definitely two different people, with the Creek student sometimes identified as "McKinley Ross #2."
